This season, hounds will compete in nine regional performance trials with the hope of qualifying for the MFHA Performance Trials Championship in Hoffman, North Carolina, on March 26-27, 2022.
The first qualifier trial is Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 8-9, hosted by the Millbrook Hunt in New York. Seven hunts entered hounds in the trial, including the Millbrook Hunt, Golden’s Bridge Hounds, Essex Foxhounds, Rose Tree – Blue Mountain Hunt, Rolling Rock Hunt, Old Chatham Hunt and Genesee Valley Hunt.
Tony Leahy, the immediate past President of the MFHA, will hunt the hounds for the trial. For more than 25 years since they first launched, Tony has been involved with Performance Trials. MFHA will provide coverage of the competition, starting with the events of Tuesday evening, Sept 7. Stay tuned!
“Hound trials are very exciting. I’m looking forward to hunting some of the best hounds in the Northeast,” said Leahy.
