This full time position is available for the 2025/2026 season. You will be assisting the Professional Huntsman daily in kennels and in the barn with horses and on a day's foxhunting. They will also be responsible for barn management and have the responsibilities of 7 staff horses.
Blue Ridge Hunt is located in Boyce, Virginia. The country lies in Clarke County, in Warren County north of Front Royal, in Shenandoah County north of Route 675, in Frederick County south of Route 50 and west of Route 11 in Virginia and in Jefferson County, W.Va. It is mainly rolling farmland with open pastureland and orchards. Jumps are chicken coops, some tiger traps, post and rails with a few stone walls.
You will be required to assist the huntsman daily in kennels and on a day’s hunting. We hunt Tues, Thurs and Saturdays. Some day’s you will be asked to drive the Road Whip truck with GPS tracking system.
You will be responsible of managing the barn of 7 staff horses and working alongside the huntsman in kennels and assist huntsman on a day’s foxhunting. You will also be asked to assist at the summer foxhound shows and puppy show on the property.
You will be asked to assist in clearing trails in the hunt country.
Holidays, health insurance and 1 small bedroom apartment over the barn included.
