HOUND SHOWS
HOUND & PUPPY SHOWS
The MFHA provides financial support to sanctioned hound shows. The MFHA’s goal in supporting hound shows is to promote hunt membership and public interest in hounds and increase participation. In addition, a hound show provides an opportunity for learning and the exchange of information, not only to evaluate the quality of hounds, breeding and showing hounds, but also an interchange on other topics fundamental to the sport of mounted hunting with hounds.
Hound Show Recognition Requirements
Exhibiting hounds must be registered or be eligible for registration with in the MFHA “Foxhound Stud Book.” Additionally, hounds belonging to non-members hunts registered in the MFHA “Foxhound Stud Book” may compete in the MFHA hound shows, depending on individual show entry policies.
A show must be held for two consecutive years before applying for recognition or an allotment.
