Monmouth County Hunt, established 1885, New Jersey/New York District. Good open country, the occasional jump, mostly wildlife preserve area with room to grow. Predominately fox well populated. Kennels located in hunt country. Crossbred Foxhounds. Over 5000- acre hunt country adjacent to New Jersey Horse Park.
Must be an experienced huntsman, with good references, friendly/likable, excellent with hounds and horses, knowledge on breeding issues and kennel management, knowledgeable on how to open new country, has management abilities, knowledgeable on how weather and terrain effect hunting, able to occasionally show hounds. able to drive a vehicle, a team player, no history of non-professional interactions with masters, staff or members or mistreatment of animals, no substance abuse issues, and transparency and loyalty to Master in charge.
Responsibilities include working in the daily work in kennels including hound exercise. Assist with breeding and whelping and training of puppies and young entry. Opening up and maintaining country, building jumps in off season. Hunting hounds when Master/Huntsman requires.
Experience hunting hounds, kennel management and experienced horseman. Must have good organizational and communication skills to facilitate open communication with the Master responsible for hounds. Ability to lead both professional and amateur staff when needed. Technical skills a plus particularly with GPS systems.
